Hector Zane, the Grand Marshal of the Realm, retires to marry Sierra Steele in accordance with his parents’ will. Ambitious as she is, Sierra is determined to prove herself on the battlefield. Before she departs for war, Hector gifts her the "Ruby Spear"—a legendary weapon. Three years later, Sierra returns home clad in silver armor and visibly pregnant, holding another man’s hand and a divorce letter. She declares that her husband must be a mighty hero, not a weak scholar.
