After Cliff Meyer’s death, his mother orders Liam to father a child with Cliff’s wife, Isla. Liam’s wife, Kate, feels betrayed when told he has already slept with Isla and even her son turns against her. Heartbroken, she leaves with the Empress’s permission to divorce and guards the border, where she meets Prince Steve Lester. Realizing his mistake, Liam cuts ties with his family and begs for Kate’s forgiveness, but she rejects him.
